The Challenge

The Challenge

The Master Plan presents an opportunity for us to embrace the future. In this, we can commit to an outlook of faith in what God has planned for us. Our current campus limits the prospect for outreach and growth because there is simply no more space.

FBC has been blessed both in member growth and in offerings, particularly since the last education space was constructed over 15 years ago.

This growth has been remarkable, but it has also placed great stress on our aging facilities. It has created a need for new, more efficient spaces to not only meet the needs of our current congregation, but also allow us to grow in the future.  Existing preschool facilities are dated and do not provide sufficient space for an increasing number of young families attending our church.

This lack of space severely limits the opportunity for growth of one of our most important ministries ... children. “Seventy-five percent of Christians accept Christ before the age of 15, so the need for children’s space is great.” (The Rainer Report, 2005)

The Preschool Place takes into consideration the travel patterns of parents with small children by providing a covered area for easy drop-off and pickup.  (click image to enlarge)

FBC saw a significant drop in student participation in all areas of the church when we lost the lease on the Cleft. These students need a space of their own to praise, worship, and experience Christian teenage life. Also, although many children participating in sports supported by the Recreation Ministry have been led to salvation; inadequate sports fields have limited the ministry’s outreach.

Just as children/students need central spaces for their respective activities, senior adults require a space specific to their needs. Currently, seniors must navigate across campus to attend Sunday Morning Bible Fellowship and Worship Services. They must negotiate stairs, curbs, and obstacles which prevent some from fully experiencing church.

Overall, as our ministries have touched the community and grown, the need for adequate facilities has increased. Members have sought additional Bible Fellowship classes; however a lack of adequate meeting space has prevented their creation.
