Our Strategic Mission Partnerships
Part of the strategy of missions at First Baptist Concord is to develop strategic mission partnerships with agency-approved missionaries and efforts. Partnerships provide the missionary a reliable source of short-term laborers and additional financial leverage for approved projects. It allows our church to familiarize ourselves with the language & nuances of a specific culture while seeing development in the work over an extended period of time. It is an investment strategy that grows laborers for the field and allows us to participate in the cycle of planting, watering, and harvesting. In addition to the partnerships below, click HERE to learn about our 3 newest church planting partnerships!
In order to impact one of the fastest growing areas of our nation, First Baptist Concord has partnered with Lead Pastor Matt Pettit to help launch a church in North Las Vegas. With thousands moving to Las Vegas each month, our church will assist this new church in taking the Light of the World to the lights of Las Vegas! Learn more at www.nvflv.com.
Church of the Hills, Cleveland, OH
In partnership with Cleveland Hope (a Strategic Focus City initiative of the North American Mission Board), First Baptist Concord has joined with other key partners and launched a church in Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland has nearly 2 million people but less than 40 SBC churches. We are building bridges of love over which the Good News can help transform this city on Lake Erie. The Kurds
The Kurdish people live in "Kurdistan," a contiguous area overlapping parts of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Armenia. A Kurdish proverb says that the Kurds have no friends but the mountains. At EXPO 2006 we formalized a new strategic mission partnership with 'Kurdistan.'
First Baptist Concord is a friend to the Kurdish people. Will you join us in praying for them? For more information click here.
Atlantis (East Asia)
Rising to the challenge of the IMB to go where they aren’t, our church has adopted a "small" city in East Asia of a quarter of a million souls where no missionary presence resides. Our city, called "Atlantis", is spiritually lost but not forsaken. Our church is the missionary to this city by utilizing creative and innovative approaches that establish a marketplace witness in order to show love and share hope. Click the logo for more info.
After assisting tsunami relief with several teams, First Baptist Concord has formalized a partnership to stay engaged on this island known more for coffee than the aroma of Christ. Through Word and works, we plan to show love and share hope in this land reputed to be the least evangelized island on earth.
